How to... edit animations (1 of 2)
To edit animations means to change the equivalence list or the collections contained in the animlist.bin file. We cannot create new animations. Editing equivalence list and collections we can make to appear some animations that are already present in the game but that never appear or that appear very rarely. In this article we will do a couple of editing using the Equivalence List.
Let’s start with a simple example that is easy to verify: the action when the goalie strips the ball. Before to start it’s good to understand the actual behavior of the goalie, launch FIFA 10 and go in the practice mode, take the ball with a player and run to the goal line until the keeper will exit to strip the ball. You can see that he will always be successful in his attempt. Yes quite boaring !
Start the animation master, open the file and Filter for the term “STRIP”
We have 4 movements. Open the “Equivalences” form, select in the combo box “2052 STRIP_0L_SUCCESS”, then add to the list the animation “STRIP_0L_CHIPSAVE” selcting it on the left panel and clicking the blue arrow.
After the editing you will have this situation:
Now save and let’s go to see what happens in game.
In practice mode play the same situations, now you will see the keeper to make a different movement, it will sometime stop the ball but, sometime he will cause a penalty and sometime he will move in the wrong direction letting you free to score.
Let’s do now another simple example: the Rollcastle. It is the typical movement made by Zidane (not the head shot against Materazzi!) the one touching the ball with the bottom of the boots and making a complete rotation of the body. With a gamepad it is quite easy to obtain it with a circular movement of the right stick.
In the Anlaysis Page filetr searching the term “ROLL”, you will find this list
In the Equivalences page select in the combo box “3620 07_ROLLCASTLE_RIGHT” and add to the list the elements as shown below
Do similar action for “3621 07_ROLLCASTLE_LEFT”
Now save and go to the practice field. Do the rollcastle more times, some time the player will do the “classic” rollcastle but in some other cases you will se a new movement (normally available only if you are playing with Pienar) where the player touches the ball with his heel crossing the legs.
In genearl, the result of editing the equivalence list is not predictable so you have to try. Be aware that editing animations can make the game to crash very easily if you for example put in the same equivalence list animations that are not compatible. So keep a backup of your motion.big file !
