How to... create a kit with KDM
In this tutorial I will create a “fantasy” kit for the team of my town: Bologna. I will use the graphics available in the Graphic Pack 1. The traditional kit of Bologna has a jersey with vertical stripes blue and red, white shorts and blue socks. I want to make a kit sponsored by Puma and, because I have direct West AIR as a sponsor in my career, I want to have its logo on the shirt.
First let's choose a kit to start from, select the “tab” Pattern and click the “Open” button, go the folder “Kit\Puma” and select the file "Vert3_WhiteBlue.png".
Blue stripes are already present but we need to color the white stripes in red. Select the “tab” Color White. This function will replace the white parts of the kit with a new color. Adjust the color with the RGB slides, then change the “White Sensitivity” and the “Black Level” until you obtain a smooth merge between the red and the blue stripes.
Now we are going to change the shorts. Select the “tab” Shorts and click the “Open” button, open the file “Uniform2_WhiteRed.png”, the shorts are white but with a red stripe while we need a blue stripe so we need to change the color. Select the “tab” Change Colors. This function will replace one color with a different one. Move the red slide on the blue position, now the stripes are blue.
Select the Basic Kit to view the combination of the new shorts with the basic patter,
Now we are going to change the socks. Select the “tab” Socks and click the “Open” button, open the file “Uniform6_BlueWhite.png”, the shorts are blue but too bright. In the “tab” Change Colors reduce the brightness until the tone of the blue fits the blue of the jersey.
The basic kit is complete now we are going to add the logos. Select the view “Kit with Logos”.
Then select the “tab” Logos, click the “Add Logo” button and load the logo of the sponsor “direct West AIR” from the folder logos/sponsor, adjust its dimensions using the Xscale.
Now, move and click the mouse on the kit to set the position the logo . We can repeat the operations adding more logos. I added two logos of the team Bologna one on the jersey and the other one on the shorts. This is how the kit will look.
Yuo can have a preview of the final result using the 3D View. Click the “refresh button” to update the preview.
Last step is to save the kit as .png file.
Give a name to the file and that’s all, it is now ready to be installed in the game using Creation Master.
