The tools have been developed for .NET Framework 2 and therefore you must have .NET Framework installed on your computer. Though Microsoft should guarantee the backward compatibility of .NET Framework versions, some problems have been reported using .NET Framework 3.5. The typical problem you get in this case is an error window just after the lauch of the program and before that the main window of the tool can open. If this your case, try to install the .NET Framework version 2. You can have more .NET frameworks present in your computer and they do not conflict together. You can download .NET Framework 2 as well as its Service Pack 1 form the Microsoft site for free. Some tools also require the DirectX and, specifically, the DirectX for Managed Code. Since 2006 they are part of the normal DirectX installation package. In order to keep small the size of the downloads .NET Framework and DirectX are not included and you must install them before to execute the tools.
