In this tutorial I will create a league for the Greek Super League (I am reusing stuffs from the patch GSP 09). I have already created all the teams that I want to use, so now we will see together how to create a league and the associated tournament.

To create a new league you also need some graphic elements:

a League Banner 128 x 128

a League Logo 256 x 64

a Picture of the trophy 512 x 512

Now let’s start clicking the League icon

and then click the New button

In the dialogue box choose Greece select the Super League anc click OK

A new league will be created with LeagueId = 531, keep the level set to 1 (it means the most important league of a Country), select the Country Greece and assign the prestige of the league, my choice is 14.

Now import the league logo and banner.

Now we are going to add teams to the league. Select a team and click the Add button.

Repeat until you add all the teams of the league.

Well, the job of creating a league is complete, if you stop now you will have the possibility to select the Greek league and its teams for a friendly match but you cannot play a tournament or a career. We need now to create a tournament and associate it with this league. Take note of the League Id, in my case it is 531, we ill need it later.

Now select the Tournament icon …

… and click the new button. In the dialogue box select  again Greece and the Super League.

A new tournament is created with Tournament Id = 60 and with some default values as shown below, it appears just like a final between two teams.

The fastest way to create a tournamen for a league is to link the tournament with the league, you can do this writing the League Id in the Asset Id \League Id value, in my case I use 531, and the click the button import teams from league. Adjust also the names according to your language.

This will fill the tournament with all the 16 teams previously saved in the league.

Now add the trophy picture.

Be sure to have the boxes checked as below: this will allow you to play the tournament both in Manager Mode and in Tournament Mode.

The last step is to adjust the tournament starting date and ending date, be sure to assign enogh time to play all the games Specify also how many games must be played against each team (2 is the typical value for a home and away round robin) and specify the days of the week when the games are played. Instead the box Away Goal Rule is present but it seems to be ignored by the game so you don’t really care how it is set.

That’s all, don’t forget to save before to exit CM.
